So it's our first rainy day in the new house. Since we have lived here - which has been almost 2 weeks, we have had beautiful sunshine and perfect pool weather. I have loved every single minute of it { even though its very distracting when you have boxes to unpack and the pool is starring at you! }. We are getting greeted with a little tropical storm this weekend...starting today by the way it seems outside so i hope to get alot done today and tomorrow!
As for the craziness of this weekend. Im not sure we could possibly fit one more thing in! This weekend we have a little "2nd" high school reunion thing going on. Thats just a fancy word for a ton of our out of town friends coming in to Boca at the same time :) Tomorrow night we are all meeting at Ale House which im sure will be an awesome time - back to our roots haha. Saturday morning Jordyn has parent observation day at dance class - im so looking forward to that! That afternoon we have sweet baby Aubryn's christening. Weather depending, after that we are supposed to meet everybody at the sand bar in Delray. Sunday morning we have Halloween pictures with Crystal and spending the rest of the day at a Halloween festival with Jilly and Scott! Now - somewhere in between all of this, I have to finish { cough cough :::Start::: } the kids Halloween Costumes!!! I feel so behind - but im positive I will get it done!!! Happy Halloween weekend everybody! :) So it's our first friday night in the new house! Any other friday night I would be looking forward to movie night in with the kids, our first home cooked meal in the finished kitchen, and maybe even a late night swim before bed - But that's going to have to wait one more week. Tonight Todd and I have to get our butts over to the townhouse and finishing getting all of our stuff and cleaning! We've been spoiled being able to go over this week back and forth but its time to get it done! Im sure I will shed just one more tear when we pack our final stuff - but im excited to start really getting unpacked and settled here in our HOME!
This morning I woke up with my "friend". First one since February of 2011. I literally think I screamed "YESS" that Kole woke up from the other side of the house. SO excited. { Think that will be the only time for the rest of my life I get excited to get it lol } Im relieved to know everything is still working good in this crazy system of mine but not looking forward to a weekend of tiredness and cramps!! Well im off to start another day. Unpacking - Cleaning - Making more "To-Do" lists - and throwing my kids in the pool to get them sleepy for nap time :) Happy Friday! :-) Im sitting down to write this post - sitting next to Jordyn on the couch who is already exhausted from playing outside all morning { its only 10:17am }, looking out the window to my view { the lake and OUR pool }, waiting on the kitchen guys to get here to finish, and Jason Mraz - "Living in the moment is playing" - perfect song to get me motivated to write. So we are in - living and sleeping in our new house. Of course, nothing comes easy and we have tons to still do at the old townhouse but we should be 100% done this week. 6 years and 2 kids we never realized how much we had to do & move! But considering all - we did awesome and im surprised at how settled we are already. We had lots of great help { thank you to EVERYBODY who helped!!} and knocked out the actual moving part pretty fast! Now its all the fun stuff - unpacking boxes, finding new places for stuff, and tossing all the junk! Our past few days have been spent with lots of family around, lots of cleaning, lots of take out and LOTS of smiles. Each night we sit down on the couch, Todd looks at me with the cutest smile and says "I cant believe we did it". It's true - I just cant believe its here. I feel so lucky and happy.
Leaving the old house was BEYOND emotional for me. I cried 100 times friday night. Balled. It's a very bittersweet feeling. We moved in almost 6 years ago. got engaged - got married - brought home our 2 babies to that house - have had countless holidays & tons of memories. It was really hard to say goodbye but we are really excited to create a billion more memories in this house! Today my beautiful boy turns 11 months old. Really? Doesnt even feel RIGHT. As sad as i am time is flying by - I need to get MOTIVATED. T-4 weeks until our first official party here! Kole's Mickey Mouse party! We are so excited to celebrate. Well today im off with the kids and "Mama" to pick out curtains for the house. We really dig all the windows and all of the views - but this morning when i went to go shower - and realized the neighbors walking their dogs saw me - NOT COOL! { true story haha }. Happy Tuesday!! Do you ever just wake up and realize how fast time goes and that overnight nothing is the same. I feel like so much is going on and so much has happened it doesnt even feel like im living the same life as I was just a few weeks ago! Even though most of this stuff has happened over a long period of time, it all has come together and made for big changes. Even though its been a while, I still get giddy evertime Jordyn goes to the bathroom - whether its #1 or #2. She also has been wearing regular underwear to bed for 3 months now, with ZERO accidents...isnt that so amazing? I have to pinch myself sometimes when she talks - it's like a 15 year old is trapped in her body - she is so incredibly smart. We are also in another semester of River Tots which is going so great - what a difference a summer can make { she now sits on my lap instead of running around like a crazy haha }. As for Kole - well he might as well be turning 21. Geez. So, he's strictly all formula now - which is like 5 times a day. He is sleeping a solid 12 hours a night, barely making a peep in between. He's eating every single thing we eat { last night he chowed down on some chicken noodle soup! }, and he is...ALMOST walking. He has taken a few steps here and there - I just cant believe it!!! Like when did they all of a sudden grow up?!
So biggest news of all - we finally closed on a new house! PHEW!!!!! I am SO beyond excited there are no words. I just cant wait to enjoy this new journey with the family. I see many pool parties and holidays at the new house!!! :) We have a busy month ahead of us but im looking forward to it all. Happy October Everybody! |
